Over halfway through one of the hottest, driest Augusts in my memory; I’m struggling to choose what to include and what to leave out! I’ve completed two house portrait commissions and three paintings, met up with friends near and far in two Cathedral cities (St Albans and Lichfield) – enjoyed walks in the Herts countryside with our ‘holiday dog’ and also worked harder in coffee shops than ever before covering for absences!
Most importantly though, I applied to enter a popular local art show, ‘Art In The Nave’ which runs over the August Bank Holiday weekend at St Mary and St Paul’s Church in Hemel Hempstead Old Town. This is a beautiful part of Hemel and sits alongside Gadebridge Park with its twisting Gade river and numerous trees and children’s play areas.
I was delighted to be accepted; not only to show my paintings but also my painted pottery! There will be something to suit every budget and I hope to meet friends I’ve made on line face to face, as well as making local people aware of my house portrait business. More news on how it all goes in September’s blog!
