June

And with a bang, summer arrived! Temperatures in the high 20s and high humidity, combined with working in coffee shops on a machine whose main purpose is to create steam and very hot water, has been challenging to say the least.

I entered the Ayot At Lawrence Art Show for the second year running, submitting unframed mounted work and greetings cards. Sadly, none of the paintings sold, but the greetings cards went down a storm, so I did manage to make a profit on the event!

A very exciting event was the release of my daughter’s first single! She has been singing and songwriting since the age of 12 but this was the first time she had been able to procure a wonderful band to record ‘Free’, a perfect song for summer which celebrates the appreciation of nature in all our lives. ‘Free ‘can be heard on Spotify under the name ‘Lumarie’.

I have been working on a watercolour on canvas of St Patrick’s Church, New York (see photo)

It’s extremely challenging, but promises to be stunning when I eventually finish it! With my busy schedule I have to fit painting in when and if I can. We all need to learn to be kind to ourselves!
